Music Box Residence

Music Box Residence is a modern, award-winning skyline residence in Portland, Oregon, featuring a unique entry garden that can be viewed from an entry ramp and the residence itself. The garden visually screens the interior rooms of the home while considering the borrowed landscape of the property’s beautiful views of Forest Park and distant mountains. Plantings and boulders in custom stormwater swales provide an interesting solution to site runoff. Plantings were selected to contrast the Japanese-inspired façade covered in blacked wood, with bright shades of green ferns, bamboo, and maple trees.
